Trip overview

Explore Chiang Mai before driving one way to Chiang Rai rather than attempting its temples as a long return day trip. Fly onward to Bangkok for three nights; domestic airfares are additional, and northern haze should be reviewed for late-winter travel.

  • Chiang Mai's old-city temples
  • Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
  • Northern Thai cooking class
  • Chiang Rai's White and Blue temples
  • Bangkok's Grand Palace
  • Chinatown after dark
